Prove the Impossible

 

To the clients of Hurricane Fitness and Will Hayford,

 

What is your goal? Why do you want it? What limits are you willing to push to obtain it? These are the questions I asked myself when I stated training five years ago. I set a goal that seemed unattainable to everyone including myself. What was my goal? I wanted to become strong, lean, run, and have a better quality of life, but most of all I wanted to scale huge granite spires. The only problem was I was 400lbs, drank like a fish, smoked, ate shitty, and had two blown out knees. People told me I was striving for too much, or I set impossible goals for myself. Except for a few amazing friends, no one believed in me. I’m not even sure if believed in myself. five years down the road I stand with my head high, knowing that I Dan Marti proved the impossible. At 240lbs, lean, I can run for miles upon miles, my quality of life is glorious and of course I’m a climbing juggernaut. My goal has finally been reached!

 

How did I do it? That's a long story for perhaps a different time. I will say that I endured many hardships and injuries but it was all worth it. I owe part of my success to Mr. Will Hayford. Will and I trained together off and on for three years. Will showed true altruism toward me and to my training. I’m sure he does for you as well. Will took time out of his day to go train with me. In fact he would even pick me up and take me to the gym (whether I wanted to or not). Most importantly Will believed in me and never let me lose focus of my goals. Wills’ support/nagging through my lows and injuries could have very well been the difference between failure and success. Thank you Will.

 

What is your goal? Make it big; strive for what you really want. There is no point of setting goals for mediocrity. It will take longer than you want, it will be harder than you imagine, but in the end it will all be worth it. When your down and thinking about quitting or cheating Will won’t let you. If you need help Hurricane Fitness will go the extra mile for you. Believe in yourself, work hard, put in the long hours, and prove the impossible.
